Nickelback is the most accessible and most mediocre music known to humanity. Any person lacking sense of aesthetic standards can find something they like in Nickelback. They have a bit of rock sound, but they are not too offensive to persons with more adult contemporary standards. Any person who has some measure of musical subtlety will tend to dislike Nickelback. It goes without saying that all their songs, for all intents and purposes, sound the same, and are excessively forumulaic. It is actually possible to hang out with someone who has rudimentary guitar skills, have a few drinks, and come up with new Nickelback songs based on the formulaic rubics which they have provided us. What especially pisses me off is the enthuisiastic support for this crappy band that still lingers in many social circles. Having a few alcoholic beverages should cause a person to hate Nickelback more, and not less. Verily, Nickelback should never go beyond persons the age of 18 months. Sesame Street would do well to have Nickelback play a song just for their young audience. Nickelback should fill the same nitch which Smashmouth filled 4 years ago. It brought me tremendous pleasure to see rocks thrown at this band during their recent Portugese performance. It is appropriate that they have toured with Puddle of Mud, another mediocre band that many course spirits are willing to cut some slack simply because they have a lyric about somebody's ass gettings smacked. "Wow, I, love these guys, they have can really cut loose; they sing about getting their asses smacked." Contemptuously medicocre. The previous quote, along with satisfaction regarding references to the mile-high club -- as well as having a large bathroom sufficient for playing baseball -- let people feel like they are rebelling against society, when, in fact, they are just listening to Nickelback.

Re: The reasons I hate Nickelback
Wed, August 13, 2008 - 11:40 AMVery eloquent. I might add that Nickelback is like a 2 minute 30 second massage with a sweaty sock full of nails and tobaccy-wad.
